Ireland’s Tara Coins Talks Gold & Silver, Monetary History, Bitcoin and Sound Money

Dublin, Ireland,  March 12, 2026
In our recent interview with Money Metals Exchange, we cover the history of money and gold and silver in Ireland and how it is intertwined with the history of Empire and how Empire always wants to control metals especially gold and silver. "Elites" both take the precious metals from people or they attempt to prevent normal people from owning sound metal money.

We look at how the precious metals - airgead buí, airgead geal and airgead rua or gold, silver and copper - were a huge part of our society and our history and this aspect of our history has been written out and our ancestors deep connections to the precious metals largely erased from our history.  Saint Patrick was not connected to precious metals per se but other saints were including Saint Brigid who was associated with fire and water and the patron saint of smithing.

These associations stem from the syncretism of the historical abbess with the Celtic goddess Bríd or Brigid, who was known as a goddess of the forge, fire and the Sun.
